Bodex Exceptional Women Initiative Africa

I am Florence Bodunrin Hungbo, a female Nigerian adult of Egun descent in Badagry, Lagos State. With my Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry from Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) in Ogun State, inhibiting barriers against women and other minority groups, like the Egun people, who are just 15% of the indigenous population of Lagos, have strengthened my resolve to promote humanity and social harmony.

Over the years, I have grown to become a vociferous voice against social injustices, a passionate advocate of women empowerment and an aspiring role models for other people – female and male. My resolve is to do GOOD and help others get BETTER.

MISSION AND VISION

This initiative is my personal social intervention and advocacy. As a human who have lived to appreciate the hybrid of challenges facing our world, I am inspired to contribute my quota to making the world a better place.

CAREER HISTORY

Upon graduating from the university, I started my career at NAPIMS-NNPC as a Health Safety and Environment Officer in 2010 and later joined MTN in 2011 as a Customer Care Agent.

After 3 years at MTN, I joined Global Fleet Oil and Gas in 2014 as Secretary/Personal Assistant to the company’s Chairman, Barr. Jimoh Ibrahim. Subsequently, I was engaged as a Content Developer/Social Media Strategist for Lagos State Television (LTV), which began my journey into self-employment and entrepreneurship.

In recent times, I have become a reputable Blogger and Social Media Strategist with enormous influence in Nigeria. This has listed me as one of the most sought-after media personnel and PR Consultant for executing the development and promotion of various brands such as Globalcom and campaigns for top politicians such as such as former President Goodluck Jonathan, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (Presidential Campaign), Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and the current Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

I am the founder of Bodex Exceptional Women Initiative (BEWI), the Convener of Bodex Social Media Hangout and Chairperson of Bodex Group International, comprising Bodex Beauty House Limited, Bodex Media Limited, House of Bodex Limited and Bodex Footwear Limited.

Additionally, I am red carpet host and TV producer, who created several high-impact programmes such as ‘Need to Know’ and I Too Know (ITK). ITK is a documentary and evaluative programme dedicated to correcting societal ills.

Specifically, I am reputed for my expertise as a Cobbler, who has carved a niche for herself in the male dominated business of shoe-making. Over the years, I have made bespoke footwares for prominent Nigerians in the league of political leaders, business leaders and celebrities.

Some of my clients includes Otunba Mike Adenuga, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, ObaEnitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Oni of Ife, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Awujale of Ijebuland, King Wasiu Ayinde marshal (K1), Yinka Ayefele, a prominent Juju Musician, Former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Adamu (rtd.) and Aare Akogun Tunji Alapini, Former Assistant Inspector General Police.

Currently, I am the Social Chairman of the Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria, a Senior Professional Member (SPMIIM) of the Institute of Information Management Africa (IIMA), member of the Young African Leaders Initiatives (YALI), Youth Political Movement (YPM) and the Digital Media Practitioners of Nigeria (DMPN).
